Myrlie Evers-Williams Institute
for the Elimination of Health Disparities

The Myrlie Evers-Williams Institute for the Elimination of Health Disparities is a partnership between the University of Mississippi Medical Center and Mississippi State University. This Institute seeks to improve health outcomes and eliminate health disparities for the citizens of the state of Mississippi through family-centered research methods and activities. The Myrlie Evers-Williams Institute is dedicated to eliminating health disparities in the state of Mississippi by engaging in population/family-focused research and fostering and maintaining mutually –beneficial community partnerships. Focus areas include child health disparities, minority men’s health, food systems/food access/food insecurity, research training, and HIV/AIDS.
